Supervision & Consultation
I offer individual supervision for associate therapists working toward licensure, and consultation for licensed clinicians. My supervision is psychoanalytic and relational in orientation — and for many supervisees, it's also a space to develop specifically affirming clinical competency with LGBTQIA+ clients.

How I approach supervision

How I approach supervision
Supervision, at its best, is its own kind of relational experience. The dynamics that arise between supervisor and supervisee — around authority, evaluation, uncertainty, and the wish to be seen as competent — are not incidental. They're material. I try to use what happens between us to illuminate what might be happening in your work with clients.
My orientation is psychoanalytic and relational. That means I'm interested in the unconscious dimensions of clinical work: what gets activated in you by a particular client, what you find yourself avoiding, what the therapeutic relationship is communicating that the client can't yet put into words.
I also bring a sustained focus on social and political context. Our clients' emotional lives are shaped by race, class, gender, sexuality, and power — and so is the therapeutic space itself. Good supervision makes room for that, not as a side topic but as a central one.
Ultimately, my goal is to help you develop a clinical voice that is genuinely your own — informed, reflective, and grounded in real relationship.

The dynamics that arise between supervisor and supervisee around authority, evaluation, uncertainty, and the wish to be seen as competent are critical parts of the learning process. My orientation is psychoanalytic and relational. That means I'm interested in the unconscious dimensions of clinical work: what gets activated in you by a particular client, what you find yourself avoiding. The benefot of supervision or consultation is having another observer to help us see the relational dynamics at play in our work, and sometimes, and auxiliarymind to help us think.

Who this is for
Who this is for

Building your clinical foundation
Early Career Pre-licensed Therapist
You're early in your hours, developing your clinical identity, and want supervision that helps you understand what's actually happening in sessions through exploration of the transference and therapeutic relationship. You might be... - New to working with LGBTQIA+ clients and wanting affirming clinical grounding - Drawn to psychoanalytic ideas and looking for a supervisor who can bring them to life - Wanting a supervision relationship that goes beyond case management

Ready for a different kind of supervision
Mid-way to Licensure
You've been working for a while. You're accumulating hours but you're also noticing things in sessions that your current supervision isn't quite helping you understand. Something richer is happening in the room, and you want a supervisor who can help you work with it. You might be noticing... - Strong feelings arising in you about certain patients — and not knowing quite what to do with them - Relational dynamics in sessions that feel significant but hard to name - A pull toward deeper, more relational ways of working that your training hasn't fully addressed - Wanting to understand transference and countertransference as live clinical tools, not just concepts

Deepening an established practice
Licensed Therapist
You're already licensed and practicing, and you're looking for consultation — to think through a complex case, develop psychoanalytic thinking, or sharpen your work with LGBTQIA+ clients. You might be seeking... - A space to think about a client who feels stuck or hard to reach - Grounding in relational and psychoanalytic concepts as they apply to real clinical work - Consultation around LGBTQIA+ affirming practice, identity, and the clinical relationship

Consultation
Licensed Therapists
I offer individual consultation for licensed therapists seeking to deepen psychoanalytic thinking, work through a complex case, or develop more nuanced affirming practice — particularly with LGBTQIA+ clients.
Available as an ongoing arrangement or for a defined period. My rate for consultation is the same as my clinical fee, but if interested always reach out to discuss format and fee. I aim to make consultation as accessible as possible.
Supervision
AMFTs, ASWs, Pre-licensed Therapists
As required by California law, pre-licensed therapists that I supervise are employed as W2 employees of my practice. Supervision is individual or triadic, weekly, and 60 minutes per session. I am a BBS-approved supervisor.
Positions open on a rolling basis. If you are interested, I encourage you to reach out even if I am not actively hiring — it is worth connecting in advance of a potential opening.
